Behind the Scenes: How a Room Comes Together

Unexpected Details

It’s often the smallest, least expected elements that give a room its character—a contrast trim, a hint of patina, a sculptural accent placed just off center. These subtle layers are what transform a space from finished to truly unforgettable.

Even the pieces you may not immediately notice—custom hardware, a perfectly scaled lamp shade, the lining inside a drawer—are thoughtfully considered. These quiet decisions are what make a space feel effortless, layered, and deeply personal.

Custom Millwork

Bespoke millwork is where function meets artistry. From tailored built-ins to architectural paneling, these elements create structure, add depth, and ensure every inch of a room works beautifully for the way our clients live.

Behind the scenes, it’s a highly collaborative process—refining elevations, selecting finishes, and perfecting proportions down to the smallest reveal. The result is cabinetry and detailing that feels seamless, intentional, and entirely one of a kind.

From Concept to Sourcing

Every room begins with a clear vision—how it should feel and how it should function. From there, we translate that concept into carefully layered selections: furnishings scaled to the space, textiles that add depth, lighting that shapes the mood, and materials chosen for both beauty and longevity. Behind the scenes, sourcing is a meticulous process of reviewing samples, refining details, and collaborating with trusted vendors to ensure every element works together seamlessly.

March also gives us a meaningful opportunity to honor Women’s History Month. As a woman-owned firm powered entirely by an incredible team of women, this month feels especially personal to us. We’re continually inspired by the creativity, resilience, and leadership of the women who shape our studio, collaborate with us on projects, and trust us with their homes.

We’re proud to build spaces with intention—and to build a business that reflects the strength and vision of women supporting women.
